This privacy policy applies to Cookle on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, including its widgets.
Cookle lets you create and manage recipes, cooking diary entries, tags, photos, settings, and related cooking data. This data is stored on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, supported app data may also be stored in your Apple iCloud account through Apple’s CloudKit services.
The developer does not operate a separate server that receives your recipes, diary entries, photos, or cooking data.
You can select photos or use the camera to add cooking photos and scan recipe text. Photo text recognition uses Apple’s Vision framework on your device. You can review the extracted text before using it to fill a recipe form.
When you request an image through Image Playground, Cookle presents Apple’s system interface. Images you choose to use are stored as recipe photos and follow the device-storage and optional iCloud behavior described above. Apple’s terms and privacy policies apply to that system feature.
Cookle does not request or collect precise location data.
Cookle uses Google AdMob to show advertisements. AdMob may collect device, advertising, usage, diagnostic, or similar data according to Google’s own policies and the choices available on your device. This can include an IP address used to estimate your device’s approximate location.
Cookle uses Google’s User Messaging Platform to request updated advertising consent information and present any required privacy message. When Google requires a privacy-options entry point, it is available in Cookle’s Settings so you can review or change those choices. Ad requests follow the Google SDK’s current eligibility, and an active premium subscription suppresses ads.
Cookle also uses Apple services such as iCloud, StoreKit, App Store purchases, push notification infrastructure, and system frameworks. Those services are provided by Apple and are governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policies.
Third-party privacy information:
Cookle may use network access for advertisements, StoreKit purchases, subscription status, iCloud sync, and remote configuration checks such as whether the current app version must be updated.
When you choose to open a recipe website in Cookle, your device connects to that website and may load its embedded third-party resources. Those providers receive normal web requests and handle them under their own privacy policies. Cookle uses a nonpersistent web browsing data store for this flow.
You can review and edit the extracted recipe text before creating a draft. Cookle uses Apple’s on-device language model, when available, to help fill the recipe form. There is no developer-operated AI server receiving this text. Saving uses the normal recipe form; the source address is included in the editable recipe note. Saved recipes follow the device-storage and optional iCloud behavior described above. Cookle does not automatically attach images from the source website to the recipe.
You can export recipes, cooking diary entries, and photos as a Cookle backup to a destination you choose. If you select storage operated by another provider, that provider handles the exported file under its own terms and privacy policy.
You can delete Cookle’s locally stored app data from inside the app where data deletion controls are provided. You can also remove the app from your device to delete local app data according to iOS behavior.
If iCloud sync is enabled, deleting synced data may also affect data stored in your iCloud account. You can manage iCloud app data through Apple’s iCloud settings.
Cookle is not directed to children under 13. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
